What a beautiful bride on a giant bunny! (please notice the pink wedding dress, the sparkly straps and the amazing floral crown)The Santa Monica Carousel is a classic Los Angeles icon, and a great place for a party! There are a few tricky logistics to iron out as the caterer, but those details are best left unmentioned when recapping a wedding as wonderful as Suki Rose’s.
The night was a little threatening with a hint of rain in the air, but only the ceremony was outside and the celebration was rain free!
I loved so much about this celebration – starting with the bridesmaids in multicolor fairy inspired dresses. And floral crowns. LOVE THAT! The chuppah was equally spectacular, a monster actually, in colors that matched the bridesmaids couture.
Suki and Dimitri were on a budget, and when relatives started bugging her about appetizers, she simply stated that they weren’t in the budget. So her Auntie picked up the bill for a few platters of crudite before supper. (I call that sponsorship and brilliant financial management)
Table settings were simple. Craft paper covered the rentals, ticket rolls were the base of the centerpiece, and I gave her a good deal on our agate wares – she was thinking of disposables, but I talked her down. We served a family style meal for 135 guests, from our field kitchen on the boardwalk in less than 13 minutes. ( My team rocks.)
The best part of this wedding was, as usual, the amazing guests!! They embraced celebration and dancing like true champions. As soon as the ceremony was over the party was a righteous, over the top, dance marathon love fest in celebration of Suki Rose and Dimitri.
Congratulations Love Bugs – and cheers to continued celebration in your life together.
